CELEBRITY STYLIST TIPPI SHORTER

Who do celebrities like Alicia Keys, Rihanna, and Jennifer Hudson continuously look to when their tresses need taming? These divas call on their indispensible hairstylist, Tippi Shorter.
Tippi prides herself on her signature big sexy HEALTHY hair. She not only makes great efforts to use "green" hair products, the newest tools and styling options; Tippi gives her clients personalized hair analysis. "It's not always about using the newest products," she says, "It's about using the best products for that particular client's hair." It is one thing to have a great hairstylist. It is an even greater thing to have a hairstylist who can give you both healthy hair and a great style. That is what has made Tippi Shorter a leading hairstylist and colorist in the entertainment and beauty industries for the past 15 years.
Since her introduction into the beauty industry, Tippi's hairstyles have topped the shoulders of many beauty icons: Diahann Carol, Beyonce, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Vanessa Williams among other actresses, musicians, and supermodels. But when asked about her career as a well known celebrity hairstylist, Tippi responds, "I am not a celebrity hairstylist. I am a hairstylist who happens to have the opportunity to work with many wonderful celebrities." This fantastic hairstylist is way too modest. Her beauty transformations have graced the covers and editorial pages of trendsetting magazines like Elle, Essence, In Style, and Vanity Fair. Her beauty tips are often quoted in weekly magazines like Life & Style and OK!

Tippi found her calling for hairstyling in her hometown, Long Beach, California. But Tippi had dreams of bringing her skills and the Hollywood Glamour she knew so well to the urban metropolis. In 1995 she headed to New York City with the intent of getting people hooked on her signature big sexy healthy hair. Tippi's road to success began when, within a year of being in New York City, she was asked to participate in a beauty feature for Essence magazine.

While in New York, Tippi also opened up Luxe Studio in the city's downtown Soho district. For four years her salon was successfully known as the go-to place for unique cuts and striking hair color. But due to high demand for her work to be featured in photo shoots, music videos, and commercials, she sold Luxe in 2005. Since, Tippi has worked with renowned photographers Patrick Demarchelier, Gil Bensimon and Christian Lantry, and her effortless looks have illuminated ads for Cover Girl, Rimmel, Pantene, and Gap. She has also been a spokesperson for both Pantene and Clairol.

In addition to fulfilling her role as a renowned hairstylist, Tippi is currently actively working on her own hair extension line GET GORGEOUS HAIR. She has also played the role of beauty correspondent on webisodes, through which she has become the go-to person for everything related to beauty in the entertainment industry. It is no doubt that Tippi will not only continue providing women with healthy, stylish hair; this diva stylist will remain an important presence in the beauty and entertainment industries.
