MAKING EXTENSIONS SHINE

Making Extensions Shine

  • While synthetic hair extensions can be too shiny and look unnatural, real human hair extensions can look too dull and unnatural. Luckily thought, real-hair extensions can look shiny with just a few products. Because real human hair is no longer "living" hair, it can lose the luster it once had. To get that back the first thing that you need is a clarifying shampoo and conditioner. Various clarifying hair products are available at great prices. The clarifying shampoos and conditioners help to remove product buildup (if you use too much mousse or gel, your hair will look dull) and add shine to your hair. Using a light serum is also good to increase the shine in your hair. Hair serum protects the hair from harsh pollutants as well as adding a lot of shine. Although a great product, never apply too much (a dime-sized drop is all you need), it can make your hair look greasy and dirty. You can also get a hair gloss. A hair gloss is almost like dyeing your hair "clear." It adds shine, adjusts the tone of your color, it's permanent but it's not a color. There is also hair glaze that is similar but is a semi-permanent color and shine. Both hair gloss and glaze need to be done by a PROFESSIONAL stylist.
